Wow, I can't believe the presentation is finally over!! Completing Step/goal 7  was a big accomplishment for me. The day started with me going over my notes and slides one more time, not that I could make any adjustments to my slides as I had to submit them on March 2, 2020 for hand outs to be made.

When it was presentation time I was not as nervous as I had anticipated as I felt more than prepared and confident in the subject matter... my self-efficacy was high. I did have a moment of nerves just as I was being introduced by my Director, but hey, I'm just human.

The presentation went smooth. It started with having the administrators set goals for the presentation and I demonstrated how I would like this to happen. I saw some make notes at this point, while others didn't, but no one outright objected. Throughout the presentation, I was happy to see administrators engaging me and others in conversation on the subject matter being presented especially when I was modelling.

At the end of the presentation I handed out a feedback form that most completed. Unsurprising a few feedback forms recommended I speak a little slower...nerves and excitement got in the way there and I was afraid of going over my time, which I still did. I did try to catch myself when I noticed I was speaking faster, but this is when feedback is great because I am not always self-aware. Other administrators said they were pleased with how knowledgeable I am on the subject matter. That is when I realized of my own SRL journey through this project. My self efficacy on the procedures of my office increased as I created this presentation and by seeking feedback from my colleagues and Director thereby having to be as much of an expert as I could to answer their questions, but also open to learning more as they brought up information I was not familiar with. I sought help and feedback throughout the process, collaborated with colleagues, set goals that helped keep me on track, utilized various learning strategies to help improve my presentation skills (Thank you Stephanie for your suggestion).  In the past I would have done this presentation as if in a vacuum and done everything on my own, but would not have learned nor grown nearly as much!

The day after my presentation my Director asked to speak with me about the presentation. She commended me on a job well done, but did notice I was speaking a bit fast. I told her my concerns and after self-reflecting realized I may have had too much subject matter to discuss in just 1 hour. My Director agreed and we went through the presentation as to what can be removed. I made the recommendation that any evaluation by discussed at a different presentation and elaborated on further; this was agreed too. My Director then informed me she wishes for me to give this presentation again possibly in September 2020.

So, for Step/goal 8 I made the adjustments discussed as the knowledge and feedback were fresh in my head. It appears that this process will repeat itself... and so it continues :).
